Central Albania Weekend (3 days, 2 nights)
1st Day
Arrival in airport “Mother Teresa”, Durres Harbour or Tirana. Check in and star the visit of the town: sightseeing tour of the many communist buildings painted by artist mayor of Tirana, Edi Rama. Visit the Martyrs of the Nation Boulevard with its charme and history starting in the 30ies with Mussolini architecture and continuing during the communist period with the Pyramid and the modern Twin Towers as well. At the end of the Boulevard we will also see the Mother Teresa Square.
Dinner in traditional restaurant.
2nd Day
Breakfast in hotel and departure to Lezha. Visit the memorial dedicated to the national hero, Skanderbeg then heading towards Kune-Vain, amazing lagoon and national park. Dinner in the park then drive to Kruja. Visit the Skanderbeg Museum, the Ethnographical Museum and the very nice Ottoman Bazaar of Kruja. On the way a little stop in a Bektashi shrine (Bektashism is a muslim sect with its World Center in Albania. Famous for its special tollerance and religious practices). Drive to Durres. Accommodation in beach hotel. Dinner based on Sea Fruit and Adriatic fish.
3rd Day
Breakfast on the beach. Visit the walls of antique Durrachion and the Durres Roman Amphitheatre. Visit of the very rich Archaeological Museum and if time permits transfer to the beach for a little swim in the warm waters of the Adriatic Sea. Depending on schedule transfer to harbour or airport.
