KORCA

Life Gallery Hotel
This could be Albania’s stand-out hotel! It has ultra-stylish rooms, first-rate service and charm, too! Its 19 bedrooms are spread across two 1920s villas and it has a courtyard and pool in-between. There are three bars, each with a different theme (Ottoman, American and one focusing on beer!)

BERAT

Mangalemi Hotel
A Berati institution known locally as Tommi’s, this is a beautiful and small hotel with a great location just below Berat’s famous citadel. It also has the best restaurant in town with a large terrace area!
GJIROKASTER

Kalemi Hotel More of a B&B than a hotel, Kalemi is a characterful converted Ottoman mansion. A warm welcome is guaranteed and the location is great, too. And check out the carvings on the wooden ceiling panels!

Hotel Gjirokastra An extremely comfortable choice with four nicely furnished rooms that have modern fixtures. A great option for families! In this UNESCO town, the kind family who runs this place cooks great food! Enjoy some of the best views of the gorgeous architecture here.

Hotel Tradita Geg & Tosk Recent work to this old Ottoman inn has led to the addition of several chic new bedrooms – it’s a real labour of love on the part of owners, Gjon and Raimonda! The restaurant is the best in town and often has live music.

VALBONA

Rilindja Hotel Opened in 2005, Rilindja (‘Rebirth’) is the oldest and coziest operating hotel in mountainous Valbona. It’s run by English-speaking brothers Alfred and Skender, and Catherine, a lovely American lady who came to Albania and never left. Oh, and Catherine’s Illyrian shepherd dog, Pango, is perhaps our favourite hound in all of Albania. The restaurant specializes in traditional Northern Albanian Geg cuisine, including whole goats roasted on a spit. (Go easy on the raki, though…) Catherine has created a great website, with tons of helpful information on Valbona and also information on this hotel.
