We’re organizing a six-day group tour to see Albania’s famous lagoons and we’ll mainly focus on bird-watching and nature! It is definitely designed for those with a love of the outdoors but we will indeed visit other points of interest that don’t have to do with birds or fauna. The group will aim to have a maximum of 12 participants and we’ll only run it if we will manage to have a minimum of 4 participants. Get in touch!
Please keep in mind that the itinerary will be flexible in order to allow for the best viewings!  We will have a more complete itinerary closer to the date but we do know where we’ll be staying each night.  From there we can make the best plans for you according to conditions and interests. This will make for a very fun trip!
We did this tour last year and were quite amazed by all the new things we learned and by the enthusiasm of our amazing friends from Karavasta, one of the most famous parks in Albania.
Albanian Trip and PPNEA are trying to promote the natural, historical and human beauties of Divjaka as well as trying to help local communities get stronger. Quite close to Tirana and Central Albania, this is a great place to visit – it’s the Kingdom of the Curly Pelican of Albania!
We have set a date for the tour and we’ve chosen it to be in peak of the newborn season when the activity in the lagoons among the resident bird communities is at its highest!
Please keep in mind that we also have a Day Trip we offer of bird watching.
Contact us for more information on the calendar of 2017 and 2018 group departures. Winter & Spring 2018 are expected to be offering a lot of birding activity in Albanian wetlands.
Please be in touch with us in case 2018 is more likely to be a good year to come to Albania for bird-watching. We’re already setting up the new dates for the next year.

We first launched this escorted cultural tour for English-speaking visitors in 2014, managed to convince a few people to go  with us and they loved it! Not very huge but still 2015 was a success. The tour started off in Tirana and took in Korça, Përmet, Gjirokastra, Butrint, Llogara and finally Berat. Albanian Trip’s very own Elton Caushi and Gjergj Mihali led the itinerary to avoid marathon drives and ridiculously early starts. The tour took to the amazing and unusual North as well and brought to some of the cream of its regions. Even the British Airways flight times were civilized! We had no big crowds on the tour but the ones that decided to go with us, loved it!

You can read more about it here.

We had our very first lepidopterist tour of Northern Albania in the summer of 2016 and it was a lot of fun! For those who are unsure, the northern part of Albania is an enchanting land of mountains, valleys, beautiful traditions and interesting folklore! (And yes, there are lots of butterflies and moths!)
In 2016 we had a surprising adventure with a fantastic bunch of butterfly and nature connoisseurs that did help us learn and understand so much about our natural world!  With endless enthusiasm, persistence and hard work we did enjoy the company of some of the most dedicated lepidopterists ever.
We do have good reasons to  believe that if we will manage to have this tour running, we will be led by eventually one of these great specialists and gurus of specially butterflies but also moths, flora and fauna too.
We’ll be most happy to arrange longer stays if you’re interested in Albanian mountains, beach or city stays.
We want to see how much interest we can gather for this trip! If you believe this sounds like something you’d love to do, please drop us a line at: contact@albaniantrip.com! If you have a small group ready to go, even better! We have picked the set dates for this summer, hoping to get a little crowd of enthusiasts together but we are open to negotiating with you on other dates according to your timing and interest:
July 1st – July 7th, 2017 (contact us for more private arrangements and the calendar of 2018)
The activities on each day will mostly revolve around butterfly and moth adventures but we can also add on excursions to dive into other parts of Albanian heritage and history.  For now, we are listing just a general idea of where we will be staying each night.  The day’s activities will vary.
