Family Holiday in Albania 2018

We are proposing a new short holiday in Albania – one which will give a family or a group of friends the opportunity to unpack in Tirana in our nice New Villa with Star for 5 nights. That means you will have a total of 6 days to spend in Albania. During this period we will serve you breakfast every single morning (a combination of the local tradition of breakfast and some of the international delicacies that you expect to find when sleeping in a hotel).

Our New Villa is not a luxury hotel but a very nice and comfortable house with AC, WiFi, clean and comfortable beds, private bathrooms with WC, bidet and shower, a couple of nice balconies/verandas and a nice, green garden with plenty of little flowers, trees and … tortoises! And of course us, being around (but not invading) to help you with info and recommendations.

Consider flying to Tirana with British Airways from Gatwick or take a cheaper flight to Podgorica, Montenegro with Ryan Air (we shall come and pick you up and then drive through the border to Shkodra and Tirana – about 3h drive). Since a while you can also use the airports of Corfu or Skopje (capital of Macedonia) to fly to the region and then extensively visit it!

We would like to propose this holiday as a package with some free time to relax and wander around and another three days filled with activities:

1 – Daytrip – Byzantines and Ottomans:  to the beautiful UNESCO site of Berat.

2 – Daytrip – Mountains and Sea:  to start with the Medieval castle of Kruja and the visit of the Ottoman Bazaar and to bring you on the second part of it to the beach area of the Bay of Lalezi.

This will include a nice hike to Cape Rodoni and some relaxing time on the beach – as for the period of the year when beach is not the warmest option we will replace it with a visit of one of the beautiful  villages in the area around Tirana or with a 4wd trip to the mountain of Dajti and village of Saint George.

3 – Daytrip – Bunkers and beaches:  will bring you to visit some interesting derelict bunkers, a farm where wine is aged in a former gunpowder bunker and then through a nice drive on the old road connecting Tirana to Durres, drive to the Southern part of the Bay of Durres bringing all of us on one of the sandy beach areas to spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing, swimming and trying some of the local delicacies.

We will be including all these activities to your stay, will be happy to give you plenty of advice on what to do, what to visit and what to eat for the days that you will spend at your own leisure, will book a (not expensive) car so that you can travel around for more and will be happy to let you enjoy a stay in our Villa which has a nice garden, plenty of cats, a huge amount of tortoises and an intelligent but a bit undisciplined dog (named Ben) that your children will love to play with. In the Villa we will also display and let you enjoy a Memorabilia Collection with an important amount of books mainly from the Communist regime (or other history related) – it will be interesting and nice to be in that atmosphere for a week. You and your children will enjoy and learn a lot from this kind of active holiday. Hoping to have you with us next spring, summer, autumn or even winter!

We will price this package holiday starting from  399.0 £ or 520.0 € (for a family of two) including accommodation in nice and comfortable family apartment with AC, WiFi, breakfast, three days of activities as mentioned above (including transfers in AC car, English (or other) speaking guide/driver, entrance fees in museums and parks around the itinerary), both (Tirana) airport transfers and local taxes. Children between 6 – 12 pay only 50% of the price and younger than that are most welcomed to be our guests. Do contact us in case you want to bring your dog or cat (or other animal) with you! We believe we can arrange that quite nicely as well!

We’ll be opened to discuss a similar package for you to stay in the Southern area of the Bay of Durres or Bay of Lalezi and do the activities starting from a nice sandy beach. Just tell us that you’re interested and we’ll find the best way to make you (and us) happy!
